Prep#1 - Preparing for a Grand Tour: From Adelaide to Brisbane

Are you ready for an epic adventure?

Two riders, Sam from Brisbane and Andy from Wellington, are embarking on a 10-day journey from Adelaide to Brisbane. With just a few months to go, the excitement is building, but so is the preparation.

It is now February, so we'll take a look at how Sam and Andy are getting ready for their grand tour style ride.

Sam has been putting in the hard yards, clocking up the miles on his bike most days. He knows that endurance is key for this kind of ride, so he's been working on building up his stamina with longer rides and hill repeats. He's also been fine-tuning his nutrition plan, making sure he's fuelling his body with the right mix of carbs, protein, and fats to keep him going on the road.

Andy, on the other hand, has had a few challenges to overcome in his preparation. A manufacturing fault caused his wheel to crack, so he's had to spend some time on his mountain bike while waiting for a warranty replacement. Despite the setback, he's been keeping up his fitness with regular rides and strength training to ensure he's in peak condition for the ride.
