TA day 3: Kauri Coast Camp to Pouto Point
Distance 103km, Elevation Gain 1236m
Another long and arduous day...103 hilly km from Kauri Coast Top Ten Holiday Park to Pouto Point for 5pm ferry deadline. Made it, some (one!) of us just, with half an hour to spare. Needn't have worried, as loading the boat took 45 mins! Unplanned 1 hour stop in Dargaville for Alastair to get his damaged rear brake fixed - BIG shout out for Sadie and Time To bike shop for doing the needful at zero notice - thanks guys!
(Another unplanned and rather urgent stop at the top of one forest climb for Alastair to make like a bear...no more details on that required!)
3 hour boat trip to Parakai, where we fortunately pre-booked accommodation, as no less than 77 bikers (& bikes) crammed on the good ship Kewpie Too!
Broke into our emergency rations for dinner, as so late (& too b******ed to go out!)
And so to bed...!
